Vania Labios

Counsellor | Speaker | Advocate

I’m Vania, a counsellor, speaker and advocate. I support individuals navigating anxiety, overwhelm, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences, helping them find stability, build resilience, and move forward with greater freedom.

My work is shaped by both professional training and lived experience. Having walked through my own recovery from significant childhood trauma, I bring depth, understanding, and a grounded presence to the work I do with others.

Alongside my counselling practice, I am the co-founder and Director of Salvador’s HOPE and a Survivors Ambassador with International Justice Mission for El Salvador. This work is focused on responding to violence and exploitation, and advocating for the protection, dignity, and restoration of women and girls in vulnerable contexts.

These roles continue to shape my broader commitment to trauma informed work and prevention, both locally and globally, and to creating spaces where safety, healing, and restoration can take place.

As a registered counsellor, I offer trauma informed, compassionate support in a safe and grounded space where clients can explore what they’re facing and begin to move forward.

COUNSELLING

Counselling offers a space to pause, reflect, and begin making sense of what you’re carrying. I work with adults and young people in Melbourne, Hoppers Crossing and Geelong who are experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, trauma, and relational challenges, providing a supportive and non-judgmental space to explore your experiences and move toward greater clarity, stability, and emotional wellbeing.

I also incorporate EMDR and Neurofeedback to support trauma processing, emotional regulation, and nervous system regulation where appropriate.

My Story

My work is deeply shaped by my own lived experience and over sixteen years of working alongside individuals and communities impacted by trauma, poverty, and gender-based violence.

Through both my clinical practice and global advocacy work in El Salvador, I have witnessed the profound impact of unresolved trauma, as well as the possibility of real and lasting healing.

These experiences continue to shape my belief in the importance of safety, compassion, and trauma informed care, and my commitment to creating spaces where people can begin to process what they’ve been through and move forward with clarity and strength.

Our Global Advocacy

Salvador’s HOPE

For over sixteen years, I have been committed to responding to poverty and gender-based violence in El Salvador. Alongside my husband, Chris, I co-founded Salvador’s HOPE and Women of Hope, initiatives focused on bringing restoration, dignity, and empowerment to vulnerable communities.

International Justice Mission

Beyond my work with Salvador’s HOPE, I serve as the Survivors Ambassador for El Salvador with International Justice Mission (IJM). In this role, I help amplify the voices of survivors, advocate for justice, and connect local initiatives in El Salvador to a global movement working to end violence and exploitation.
